Foggy?

I, the Lord, am your God. You must be holy because I am holy. Leviticus 11:44

We live in a foggy world. There is a haze that is constantly hovering over us. As Christians, things often seem foggy. But this haze is not of God. It is so easy to lose perspective and make decisions based on the world's ways.
Sin is subtle and has been such a part of our society for so long that we make peace with it in all forms. White lies are ok as long as they don't hurt someone. "Politically correct" covers a multitude of unkind and hateful thoughts and actions. Justifying our spending in the name of "I needed it" runs all too rampant.
But scripture tells us to be holy just as God is holy. He is our standard, our light and our compass. To be better then the next guy is not enough, we must not compare ourselves one to another. Today I write to encourage you that wherever you are in your faith journey, stop and look up- make sure you're following the true light and not lost in the fog of the world. Read your Bible, talk with other Christians, seek the Lord diligently. In Him there is no confusion, he will remove the veil of fog if we only ask.

Lord,
Let us see you so clearly! Be our light and our guide as we make our way through this sinful world. Remove the veil of fog so that we walk in clarity. In your name we pray, amen.
