Be Diligent!

Diligently obey the Lord your God. Zechariah 6:15

A sluggard's appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. Proverbs 13:4

Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 1 Timothy 4:15

Does God seem far away? Are you ever asking but never receiving answers? Perhaps it's in the way you approach God that you fail to receive answers and closeness of relationship. Are you diligent in your efforts to seek God?

I had the word diligent appear to me twice in one quiet time setting. It just seemed to stand out from the page, so I looked it up in the dictionary. It means:

     *constant in effort to accomplish something

     *attentive, persistant, steady

     *earnest and energetic in effort

     *steadfast application

Seeking God is not a task for the lazy or half-hearted. It's about being diligent. God wants us to seek him with our whole heart, mind, and soul. He is to be found, but only when we invest completely in him. 

So today, if you feel that God is far away continue to pursue him. Go deeper in your study of his word. Work hard at obeying his commands. BE DILIGENT!
