What Do You Think?

"For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he…" Psalm 23:7

Our thoughts drive our words and our actions, therefore, we must be very intentional about what we think. Our mind is literally a war zone. It is where satan places lies, leads us into condemnation, defeats us with discouragement, and fights with a whole host of other evils to destroy us. Never forget that his goal is to steal, kill, and destroy, and he begins in our minds.
Take time today and think about what you think about. Make a written list if necessary of the thoughts that make up your day. As you begin to analyze your thoughts, you will notice patterns. Do you see a pattern of negativism? Are you obsessed with a situation or a desire? Do you worry and doubt? These are all traps of the enemy. It's time to break free.
When you've determined your thought patterns, ask God for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to renew your mind. Know that you can't do this on your own. Don't try to change the patterns in your own power. Replace your thoughts with the Word of God. Begin reading, meditating and reciting passages until you find the freedom that Jesus died for you to have. It will be a slow process sprinkled with mistakes, but don't give up!

"If you abide in My word, you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free." John 8:31-32
