If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care - then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep spirited friends. Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
Philippians 2:1-4 MSG
Father God, this is what You dream for Your children! You long to see us acknowledging Your love in our lives and encouraging one another to live by the Spirit. You love to see us communing together, with You at the center of our thoughts and plans. You delight in watching Your children love each other with genuine affection working towards one goal, loving and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. Help us to work together for You. Help the body of Christ to put aside our selfish desires and come together helping the person next to us achieve more than ourselves. Lord, we want to make you proud. We want to follow your commands with our eyes on eternity and our hearts set on serving you. Have your Spirit control us and move us toward becoming like Christ and guide us everyday to become the body that you dream for us to be. Thank you for your patience and for the great love you shower on us daily. Give us Your strength and Your power to succeed.
