Timely advice is lovely,
like golden apples in a silver basket. To one who listens, valid criticism is
like a gold earring or other gold jewelry. (Proverbs 25:11-12)
· * If we
want to be wise, we will listen to the advice of others.
· *Often,
others see in us things we cannot or do not want to see in ourselves.
· * Learn
to pause and respond to others’ words before you react. There may be nuggets of
truth you need to hear in order to become a better person.
It’s often hard to
admit that we need help. Humble us to a place where we are willing to admit
that we don’t have all the answers. Teach us to seek advice. Lord, we need our
Christian brothers and sisters to help us see our own character or teaching
flaws. Show us how to help one another become better men and women of dynamic
character through honest, loving conversations.
